Resident Spotlight: Carolyn Carlisle

Growing up in Roswell, Georgia, Carolyn Carlisle’s life was shaped by family, faith, and a love for new experiences. The only sister among four brothers, Carolyn spent her childhood tending the family garden and caring for her parents—a role she took on with both devotion and pride.
Carolyn never married or had children of her own, but she built a fulfilling and independent life. For many years, she ran her own cleaning business, working five days a week and saving weekends for time with the people she loved most. Her faith and her church have always been at the center of her life, and she’s happiest when she’s singing gospel music or getting creative with arts and crafts.
Carolyn’s enthusiasm for life is contagious. She believes the world is full of adventures waiting to be discovered and that there’s always something to love if you keep your mind and heart open. She speaks fondly of her brothers, who cared for her just as she cared for them, calling them “kind and sweet.”
In 2022, Carolyn made Legacy Village of Athens her new home. She says she loves the friendly staff, the welcoming community, and the endless opportunities to stay active—“there’s always something to do!” she says with a smile.
If Carolyn could share one piece of advice, it’s this: “Live life to the fullest, and no matter how hard it gets, never give up.” Her story is a reminder that adventure, joy, and family can be found wherever you are, as long as you greet each day with an open heart.
